Class Schedule

Drawing the Figure Workshop

Nov 12-13 (10am-4pm)

Class Description: This workshop’s concentration will be how to render the figure in fully dimensional forms as gesture, proportion, shape and tone are analyzed. We will draw monochromatically, working to make accurate value judgements that will give the feeling of light falling on form to our drawing. Day one will comprise of shorter poses working our way up to long pose that will be continued on the second day. The longer session will allow modeling, shading and edge work to be explored more thoroughly.

Price $135 OCAF Members, $150 Non-members

Model fees will be determined by class size

Location: School Street Studios: Painting and Drawing Classroom

Materials: I am flexible on materials used in this workshop. Graphite pencils can be used the whole time or students can alternate working in charcoal or even a single color of oil paint. Below are some of the materials I suggest for drawing classes.

Pencils- in a variety of hardnesses ex. 2H, 2B, 4B Kneaded eraser Pencil sharpener, sandpaper Chamois cloth and/or soft paper towels Vine Charcoal CharKol sticks Bristle brush to use for scrubbing- can be old and cheap! Optional- charcoal pencil Newsprint pad Several better quality sheets of charcoal and drawing paper (Canson Edition is a good inexpensive type) Drawing board (masonite panel is fine)
